EHCNA Application

Applying for an EHC Needs Assessment

Parents/ carers of home educated children and young people can make a request for an EHC Needs Assessment. This is an opportunity to identify all of the child or young person’s SEN and understand any support needed.

Before requesting an EHC needs assessment (EHCNA), we strongly suggest that parents and carers undertake the following:

  • Gather information about their child’s special educational needs. This may include any assessments, reports and/or medical or psychological evaluations. Providing this information will help support the application.
