14-16 EHE provisions

Some home educated young people attend 14-16 EHE provisions in colleges for their study. Some of these provisions are detailed below. The parent/ carer retains responsibility for their child’s education and the child remains registered with BELS as home educated. Parents/ carers are expected to organise their child attending a 14-16 provision. The local authority/ BELS does not organise or pay for home educated children to attend a 14-16 provision. Funding is provided by the Department for Education (DfE.) Courses are ordinarily part time only.
