Post 16 Team

The BEETS Team (Barnet Education Employment and Training Support) works to support young people in Barnet between the ages of 13 and 19 by providing high quality information, advice and guidance (careers guidance) regarding post 16 options. This support is provided in a range of community venues, as well as schools and colleges.

Home educated young people will be contacted by the Post 16 Team following their final day in compulsory education - usually the last Friday in June of the school year the young person turns 16.

The Post 16 team have a responsibility to track all young people who are educated in the London Borough of Barnet in Y11 or live in the London Borough of Barnet, up to the end of the year in which they turn 18 as to whether they are in education, employment or training. This extends to the young person's 25th birthday for young people with an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan.) The team have a statutory duty to send this information to the Department for Education each month (this reporting refers to numbers not individual names.)
