The National Gallery

The National Gallery have a number of activities for home educating families:

  • Groups of 10 or more students are welcome to book one of the school group sessions or workshops.

https://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/learning/about-learning is where you can find more details of the different school programmes on offer - which can be accessed by home educators.

SEND sessions are also offered: https://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/learning/send-programme

Online resources also available.

  • Starting again in the 2025/ 2026 school year, during term time, The National Gallery will offer home education creative sessions in their Art Studio led by an artist/educator for 5 to 16 year olds.  You can book onto this individually in your family group and join a small group of other families to explore a painting and art technique. The sessions are accessible for all abilities and interests, are open-ended and take place in a relaxed atmosphere.

The National Gallery’s families page provides more information on upcoming events. If you are interested, please check there regularly for sessions to appear once programmed for the next academic year – 2025/ 2026. https://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/events/families
